Acsorb
Activated Carbon
Circular charcoal for a zero-waste industry. It is designed to replace the functions of activated charcoal produced using traditional methods.
The pyrolysis process developed by Greene, combined with a post-processing step for biochar (derived from biomass), results in the production of circular activated carbon.
This product is currently in the final validation phase.
Technical Specifications
- Porous carbonaceous material (75–95% fixed carbon) with an internal surface area.
- Moisture: < 5% and Ash: < 10% (ideally < 5% for high-purity applications).
- BET surface area: 600–1,000 m²/g (depending on the degree of activation and pore type).
- Circular raw material classified as a product, not as waste, in accordance with the criteria for the end-of-waste status.
The circular process
From waste to resource: this is how Acsorb was created:
- Recovery: Utilization of biomass and lignocellulosic waste from agricultural, forestry, or agroindustrial sources that are currently subject to low-value recovery or disposal.
- Processing: Application of Greene’s controlled carbonization and activation technology to produce high-purity activated carbon with a large specific surface area.
- Application: Used as a natural adsorbent in water treatment, gas purification, soil remediation, catalysis, or energy storage (high-purity applications), contributing to decarbonization and industrial circularity.
