Turning Waste into Opportunities

At Greene, sustainability is not just an aspirational concept, but the guiding principle behind our decisions and technological developments. We work to give a second life to waste for which there are currently no efficient solutions, helping to reduce its environmental impact and harness its value as a resource.

Through our patented technology and an ongoing commitment to R&D&I, we develop solutions aimed at improving waste management and moving toward more circular models. Our goal is to provide viable and scalable alternatives that generate tangible benefits for both society and the environment.

Our sustainability
strategy

It is currently based on the following five points:

illustration: sustainability strategy (OK)
At Greene, our story began with a clear vision: to look beyond “waste” and discover “resources.” We were born out of the conviction that innovation and science are the compass that guides us toward a truly circular future.

We don’t just talk about sustainability—we make it a reality. We analyze each waste stream, optimize processes, and design recovery solutions tailored to each facility. Let’s imagine a model in which the waste that today has an impact on the air and soil becomes tomorrow’s raw materials for new industries.

This is not a pipe dream; it is the reality that Greene makes possible. For us, sustainability means engineering a future where waste is the solution, driving a circular economy and protecting our planet.

Our vision is to be global leaders in transforming waste into circular raw materials, thereby directly improving the planet’s sustainability.

Sustainability Pillars

sustainability icon1

Environmental sustainability.

Our plants optimize resource use and minimize environmental impacts through efficient waste recovery solutions. We integrate environmental criteria throughout our operations, prioritizing resource efficiency and impact reduction. Each facility is designed to optimize processes, minimize emissions, and move toward a more circular and responsible model.

Social Sustainability: Creating Local Opportunities.

Our business drives local development by creating skilled jobs and promoting ongoing training. We work with the local community to create real opportunities, always within a framework where people’s safety and well-being are a priority. In this way, we help create real and lasting opportunities in the local community.

Governance and economic viability.

We conduct our business based on principles of ethics, transparency, and financial soundness, with innovation as a key driver. We are committed to sustained investment in R&D&I to improve operational efficiency while strengthening the business’s long-term competitiveness, trust, and resilience.

Upcoming projects:

We have a portfolio of up to 8 plants in development over the medium term, with the goal of establishing a significant presence that will multiply our sustainable impact.

The “Rejection” section:
Our Circular Perspective

We specialize in the reject fraction—the waste that cannot be recovered through mechanical treatment and is sent to landfills or incinerators.

Valogreene LER Code 191212

Other waste [including mixtures of materials] resulting from the mechanical treatment of waste other than that specified under code 191211.

This “difficult waste” accounts for more than 50% of industrial solid waste and can exceed 70% in the case of municipal waste. Our technology allows us to fully recover it, preventing its negative impact and transforming it into a resource.

New lines of business:

Greene is expanding its horizons into the production of gaseous raw materials, with advanced R&D&I projects such as Greene W2BM (for biomethane production) and Greene W2H2 (dedicated to green hydrogen production).

These projects reflect our strong, long-term commitment to innovation and diversification toward sustainable energy solutions, backed by detailed and realistic development plans.

Unfiltered Transparency: Our Vision

Transparency is essential to building trust and ensuring a lasting positive impact. We are committed to operating under the highest ethical and corporate governance standards.

That is why we directly address common concerns:

  • Lack of Awareness About Waste Recovery: It is a challenge that the public is unaware of what happens to trash or the various waste recovery techniques.
  • Our plants will serve as interpretation centers to educate the public about the concept of the circular economy and the 2030 Agenda.
  • We are transparent about theCO2 emissions from our plants. Although they are minimal and comply with regulations, we explain that they are a normal part of any industrial process and that, compared to landfills and incinerators, our impact is significantly lower and beneficial.
  • Concerns About Industrial Waste: We understand that the arrival of industrial waste may raise questions. However, we would like to clarify that we work with non-hazardous waste and that the presence of a Valogreene facility brings tangible benefits to the community: tax revenue, job creation, and a sense of pride in contributing to environmental protection.
